Airtel to expand 4G LTE service to Andhra, Telangana states


Indian mobile telephony operator Bharti Airtel plans to expand its 4G LTE services to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana by the end in the next 6 to 8 months, The Economic Times reports.
By the end of this financial year, Airtel aims to offer 4G LTE services in both states. According to the same source, Airtel will then expand its 4G LTE offering to the Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam regions. Airtel currently offers 4G services in Mumbai, Punjab, Pune, Bangalore and Kolkata.

Airtel recently announced it would cover all the 270 towns in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana with 3G data and voice services by the end of the current financial year. "At present, Airtel offers 3G services in 200 towns across both states, while the extent of 2G coverage is almost 95 per cent of the population," said Bharti Airtel's CEO for AP.
