Mana Telangana Education: Workshop on developing technology apps for smart cities in JNTU Hyderabad

About 80 technology students from 26 colleges have just joined a summer camp of a different type. These students will be developing technology apps for smart cities, for solving some of the problems people face.

The Hyderabad Software Exporters’ Association (HYSEA) is organising the five-week Product Engineering and Entrepreneurship workshop beginning Thursday. This workshop is being organised by Jawaharlal Nehru Technology University and Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK).

“We would like to discover, nurture and refine tech product ideas from engineering students in a structured summer programme. We expect them to develop a demo prototype of the idea. It will also help create excitement around ideas, products and product entrepreneurship,” HYSEA President Ramesh Loganathan said in a statement.

The JNTU is planning to make this an annual event every summer, making it part of its curriculum.

Besides helping students build a product, the workshop is also aimed at developing faculty skills.
