Mana Telangana history and culture: Seminor in Karimnagar town


Minister for Finance and Civil Supplies Etala Rajender has stressed the need to educate people about the ancient history, culture and tradition of Telangana.

Participating in a seminar on “Telangana history and culture” organised as part of the ongoing Telangana State Formation Day celebrations at ZP conference hall in Karimnagar town on Saturday, the Minister said that Telangana’s history and culture were the greatest in the world.

Recollecting the movement for statehood from 1969 onwards, he said that TRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had given new fillip to the statehood movement from 2001 onwards. The people of Telangana had to undergo humiliation at the hands of Seemandhra leaders during the second phase of the statehood movement, he said, adding that several youth had committed suicide for the cause of Telangana. Stating that Karimnagar district was more empowered now, he promised to make the district the ‘rice bowl of Telangana’.

Zilla Parishad chairperson Tula Uma, Karimnagar MP B. Vinod Kumar, Karimnagar legislator Gangula Kamalakar, Collector Neetu Prasad, historian Jaishetty Ramanaiah, writer Pandu Ranga Rao, Malayasri and others were present.
