TS Police: Interceptor vehicle to monitor highway traffic

Superintendent of Police Vikram Jeet Duggal flagged off a new interceptor vehicle that was given by Telangana Road Safety Authority to the Nalgonda Police on Friday. The Rs. 30 lakh worth vehicle was meant to monitor traffic on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada highway.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Duggal said the vehicle was equipped to monitor the speed of vehicles one kilometre away from its location on either side.

Apart from that, he said that the vehicle also had a breath analyser, which would be useful to check drunken driving. A computer for recording crime details and a first-aid kit are also present in the vehicle.
