Cash-for-Vote: TDP MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah arrested


TDP MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah arrested by ACB on Monday arrested for his alleged involvement in the cash-for-vote case. On Tuesday morning, the legislator arrived at the State office of the ACB after he was served a notice on under section 41-A of the Criminal Procedure Code.

Mr. Veeraiah managed to avoid a personal appearance by citing health reasons when he was first sent a notice by the ACB under Section 160 of the Cr. PC.

After prolonged questioning, officials declared his arrest later in the evening and communicated the same to his family members. Late in the evening he is to be taken for medical examination and it is understood that he would be produced in Court on Wednesday morning, where the ACB will also seek police custody for further questioning and investigation.

Mr. Veeraiah is the second TDP MLA to be arrested in the cash-for-vote case. MLA A. Revanth Reddy was arrested on May 31.
