TSRTC launches Bio diesel bus in :Mana Telangana


Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) on Friday flagged off a bus being operated on bio-diesel, marking the occasion of Haritha Haram programme. TSRTC JMD G V Ramana Rao flagged off the bio-diesel bus on Friday. According to the officials, the TSRTC operates 10733.80 lakh km per annum with a fleet of 10,329 buses from 95 depots across the State. The annual consumption of high speed diesel oil in TSRTC is 2096.45 lakh litre. The corporation operates 905.7 lakh km per day and the average fuel consumption is 175.52 lakh litre per day.

As a measure of introducing green technologies, the corporation started using ultra low sulphur diesel oils and alternate fuels like ONG, bio-fuels on a large-scale. Presently, 134 CNG buses are in operation in the twin cities and as per the availability of CNG, more number of buses would be added. In the first phase, 14 depots have been identified to run bio-diesel buses. Executive directors M Ravinder, A Purushotham, R Nagaraju, Regional Managers of Ranga Reddy, other officials were present on the occasion.
